Absence

So the big moving day is tomorrow and that is why I slacked off on my songs for each day, no one was commenting anyway so I'm almost positive no one noticed my absence. However this is just to let anyone know that may stumble across this that I won't be here for awhile...like I said we move tomorrow and well I don't know when we plan to get the internet hooked up at our new place. Here are some pictures of today...

this move is a little bittersweet in that we loved this apartment a LOT, but we are excited for what God has in our future for us! As always I will try and keep you updated. Thanks for your prayers and thoughts as we go through this transition.

Blessings to you and your family,

Track 5, Chasing Cars

I LOVE Snow Patrol, I introduced them to Nathan when we met and when we first were married, Chasing Cars was almost a theme song in our home. We moved away from all our family and were there in Texas by ourselves.
This song enpowered us and encouraged us, that we could do it ourselves, not in a we don't need anyone kind of way but in a we are our own family now and we can do it, kind of way, whether people stick by us, abandon us, or we just change paths we can do it ourselves with God's strength and guidance. It reminded us to find an escape from our thoughts when laying in each others arms, to not just say I love you but to show it in our actions as well, that the grace we give each other helps us to find our own grace for others and ourselves, and last but not least that we see each other for who we were and are and will be and still love each other unconditionally. What a GREAT song! Here's the link to the video as always:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_gnmBtM49U

Chasing Cars
Snow Patrol

We'll do it all
Everything
On our own

We don't need
Anything
Or anyone

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me
And just forget the world?

I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel

Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me
And just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden
That's bursting into life

Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads

I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me
And just forget the world?

Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden
That's bursting into life

All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes
They're all I can see

I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things
Will never change for us at all

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me
And just forget the world?

Laying with him,

Track 4, L-O-V-E

First of all I want to wish you all a Happy Independence Day! I hope you are all enjoying your fireworks and family time and I'm certainly looking forward to seeing the pictures!

Nathan and I both worked, mine is past tense his is present and we are celebrating tomorrow. I'm so pumped, we are doing the same thing we did last year and loved and that is going to the drive-in and grilling. Except this year we are also going to swim at my rents house after church and we are obviously seeing a different movie this year...TRANSFORMERS!!!! I'm pumped. I also just love how much my hubby loves this holiday and in honor of that love I was able to pick up a couple of $5 t-shirts so we can be a little more festive tomorrow like he likes to be. =]

So today is track 4 and it has a bit of a story with it...I've always loved older music. Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Dean Martin, Judy Garland, Nat King Cole, oh I could go on...I LOVE that kind of music. One of my favorite love songs is L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole. We danced to it at our wedding...b/c we practically danced the whole night. But I love that song. Well like you may have heard me say before, Nate is not too much of a singer, he's got the heart of one alright but when it comes down to it, usually it's not that great he's acknowledges this and will admit it BUT he does sing older songs a bit better. One of my favorite memories of him was when we lived back in Texas, we had been married almost a year and some people from my work invited me to go to this mexican karoake restaraunt and so we decided to go. I jokingly asked him if he was going to sing something and he replied if I do will you? I was like sure, if you sing something I'll sing something. =] So he got up and in front of a decently populated restaurant sang to me L-O-V-E proclaiming his love for me...it touched my heart more than I could explain and even if no one else thought it sounded good, I thought it sounded like heaven, there is no question that this man loves me. The owners of the restaurant even took pictures of us while we were singing to each other...to put on their walls it was sooo cool! What a great memory, of me and my Nathan.

L-O-V-E
Nat King Cole

L is for the way you look at me
O is for the only one I see
V is very, very extraordinary
E is even more than anyone that you adore can

Love is all that I can give to you
Love is more than just a game for two
Two in love can make it
Take my heart and please dont break it
Love was made for me and you

L is for the way you look at me
O is for the only one I see
V is very, very extraordinary
E is even more than anyone that you adore can

Love is all that I can give to you
Love is more than just a game for two
Two in love can make it
Take my heart and please dont break it
Love was made for me and you
Love was made for me and you
Love was made for me and you

Track 3, Song of Love

This next song is just plain beautiful...I actually re-recorded it and walked down the aisle to it. My dad and I sang along while he walked and it was a very special and emotional moment.

It's originally done by Rebecca St. James, here is a link of her video for it.:

[I include them so you can hear them if you want, not for the actual video just as fyi :) hehe]

Song of Love

Jesus, King of my heart
Father, my peace and my light
Spirit, the joy of my soul You are

Jesus, to you none compare
Father, I rest in Your care
Spirit, the hope of my heart You are

CHORUS:
The heavens declare You are God
And the mountains rejoice
The oceans cry Alleluia
As we worship You Lord
For this is our Song of Love

Jesus, You save my soul
I'll thank You forevermore
Jesus, the love of my life You are

CHORUS

Jesus, I am in awe
Of the love that You have shown
Jesus, how precious You are to me

CHORUS

Forever Inlove,

Track 2, More Than Words

So as our relationship progressed, we got close to that l word but couldn't quite spit it out and we flew to Michigan to meet his family and go to one of his good friend's weddings, so I could meet all the friends as well.
Their wedding favor was a cd and so between wedding and reception we popped that cd in and that is where we got our next song, which turned out being the song we played when we were washing each others feet at our wedding.

It's not always about the saying I love you, it's about how you treat each other, it's about serving one another, it's about not being selfish, it's just...

...More Than Words.

Saying I love you
Is not the words I want to hear from you
Its not that I want you
Not to say, but if you only knew
How easy it would be to show me how you feel
More than words is all you have to do to make it real
Then you wouldnt have to say that you love me
Cos Id already know

What would you do if my heart was torn in two
More than words to show you feel
That your love for me is real
What would you say if I took those words away
Then you couldnt make things new
Just by saying I love you

More than words

Now Ive tried to talk to you and make you understand
All you have to do is close your eyes
And just reach out your hands and touch me
Hold me close dont ever let me go
More than words is all I ever needed you to show
Then you wouldnt have to say that you love me
Cos Id already know

What would you do if my heart was torn in two
More than words to show you feel
That your love for me is real
What would you say if I took those words away
Then you couldnt make things new
Just by saying I love you

More than words.

Soundtrack of Our Love

Happy July everyone! I decided to try for all my posts this month to include a song that would be in Nathan and My soundtrack of love. Since it is our wedding anniversary month. So sorry to those sick of hearing me gloat about my husband, but I just can't help it when you are blessed this much it just overflows out of you without warning sometimes. =]

Before I start this fun though a prayer request, my good friend that I went to school with back in Texas who got married shortly after Nathan and I has moved out and filed for divorce. Her husband has gotten a huge wake up call as to things he has done wrong and is now trying redeem himself, showing her that he HAS realized he has treated her wrong and yet loves her deeply. She has allowed hurt to overtake her and is VERY set on being divorced, and unfortunately her family thinks this is acceptable and are encouraging her. I'm praying that her ears would be closed to lies, and her heart healed and softened to hear the truth. Please agree with me for the restoration of their marriage. I'm sure most of us married folks can understand the hard times we go through, where we feel misunderstood and distant I myself have just come out of such hard times in my own marriage these few months have been even better now that we have gone through that rough patch I pray the same happens for them, that their love would grow and be even more fullfilling after this tough time. Thanks a ton!

Okay now to the fun stuff...one of the first "songs" Nathan and I ever had was I Got You Babe - by Sonny and Cher haha yep cheesy & cute for sure this was before the I love you's at the beginning of what would become an amazing relationship.

HER: They say we're young and we don't know We won't find out until we grow
HIM: Well I don't know if all that's true'Cause you got me, and baby I got you
HIM: Babe
BOTH: I got you babe I got you babe
HER: They say our love won't pay the rent Before it's earned, our money's all been spent
HIM: I guess that's so, we don't have a pot But at least I'm sure of all the things we got
HIM: Babe
BOTH: I got you babeI got you babe
HIM: I got flowers in the spring I got you to wear my ring
HER: And when I'm sad, you're a clown And if I get scared, you're always around
HER: Don't let them say your hair's too long'Cause I don't care, with you I can't go wrong
HIM: Then put your little hand in mine There ain't no hill or mountain we can't climb
HIM: Babe
BOTH: I got you babeI got you babe
HIM: I got you to hold my hand
HER: I got you to understand
HIM: I got you to walk with me
HER: I got you to talk with meI got you to kiss goodnight I got you to hold me tightI got you, I won't let goI got you to love me so
BOTH: I got you babeI got you babeI got you babe I got you babeI got you babe

My Best Friend's Wedding

One of my best friends, Brandi got married this weekend and I was blessed to be one of her bridesmaids. It was unorganized, chaotic and random but a complete blast of course!

Me and Noel getting ready for the big event! =]

The Beautiful Bride

Happy Couple

Nate and Me
At the end of the day there was a beautiful bride, an excited new husband, happy family and friends dancing and it all brought me back to my wedding day, before all the drama that would soon follow there was Nate and I...unbelievably happy to have each other forever. Astounded by God's grace that He should choose us for each other, not perfect, but perfect for each other. We danced the night away last night just as we did on our special day, and I welcomed the reminder of such an amazing day and an amazing love that has brought us through so much in such a little time and I was just blessed all over again. I guess you could say I love weddings. hehe
CONGRATS to my dear friend [even though she does not read this blog] I'm so happy for her and her new husband, and pray that they have lovely weather for their honeymoon cruise in Jamaicain waters this week, that their life would be a blessed one together, and that their love would never die.
To everyone else that may be married, I challenge you to think back to your wedding day [if it was pleasant] and remember how you felt during your first dance, in your brand new husband's arms, feeling more inlove than you ever thought possible, knowing that you could mold your future into ANYTHING you wanted, having the security of forever along the side of an amazing man, and feeling certain you would never feel anything different. Sometimes in our busyness we forget that passionate love we felt for our husbands during those first few hours, days, months and even years...I know I'm going to try and never forget and if I do, I hope I attend a wedding and remember all over again. =]
Blessings to you this wedding season!
